About Things I Learned the Hard Way

Things I Learned the Hard Way is a place where women can share life lessons about home, family, friendship and work. Our contributors write well and they want to share their experience with others. Things I Learned the Hard Way is only as valuable as its community of readers who share their experiences by commenting on each post. We welcome this dialog.

Comment Post Guidelines

We welcome comments and encourage readers to share their own life lessons as they related to an article or post. We ask only two things, first that comments are polite and respectful, even if you disagree with a writer or community member, and second that remarks are on topic. We read all comments and will delete remarks that are rude or off topic.

Books and Stuff We Love

Things I Learned the Hard Way has business expenses, and our writers have opinions about products that might be of interest to our readers. One of the ways we meet those costs is to link to Amazon or other online retailers who sell books and stuff we love. We make a little money from associate fees when the online retailer, such as Amazon, offers such a program. We only link to books and products that we have used and like and that we think our readers might enjoy.
